The Pine Cone Festival was established to create a special event for the Communities of the San Bernardino Mountains which highlights the mountain environment, highlights the importance of wildfire safety, educates and invites visitors to experience our unique setting year round. Visitors will learn more about the forest and local natural features, and discover how important wildfire prevention is in preserving these wonderful resources. The Festival provides interactive activities for families and opportunities for local craftsmen, artists, retailers and non-profit organizations to participate and benefit financially.
Developed by a group of mountain citizens, the Pine Cone Festival and its activities are meant to enhance the options for local residents and visitors to enjoy the San Bernardino Mountains. The October event is coordinated by a volunteer steering committee, including members of Mountain Rim Fire Safe Council, First Mountain Bank,Church of the Woods, Rim Family Services, and DuPlain Designs.
Held in Running Springs, the event is centrally located for residents from Crestline to Big Bear Lake, yet a short drive up from the valley for mountain visitors.
In its tenth year, the Festival is supported by numerous local organizations and businesses. Because of this support, we are able to keep this a FREE event. It has been a very successful festival and we are confident it gets better each year.

MCH reveals new Toshiba 80 Slice CT System
We hope you’ll join us for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate our new high-tech CT scanner. Wine and appetizers will be served.
When it comes to your health, it’s important to be assured that your local hospital is prepared to treat you with the right technology. MCH is excited to announce the recent purchase of a new 80- slice CT System. Whether it’s a head, abdominal, vascular or bone issue, our new Toshiba CT scanner is able to assist the physician in identifying the problem in a fast and efficient way.
The system is so fast that it captures and delivers the images to your doctor almost immediately- which means you’ll receive your diagnoses and can move towards a quicker recovery. And to make sure the exam is as safe as possible, the system includes advanced radiation dose reduction technology. Safety is never a choice you should have to make when getting a scan, and with this system you don’t.
Unfortunately, health issues happen-but know that Mountains Community Hospital is fully equipped with the leading CT scan technology that can quickly assist your physician in diagnosing your condition.
